Negativity is like gravity. That’s something that I have discovered, and it has changed my perspective of daily life. Negativity is like gravity. Gravity is just there and we don’t even think about it anymore. When we are babies and we can’t even hold our heads up, it’s quite a big deal and it makes things really difficult. We have to hold our heads up, and then we have to learn how to sit up, and then we have to learn how to crawl and how to walk. But once we learned how to function in the presence of gravity, we stopped thinking about it so much.

We fight gravity every single day, but we don’t even think about it anymore. It has become such a constant presence in our life, that we’re just used to it, and we deal with it, and we’ve got it down. We know how to deal and how to manage. Well, negativity is like that too. It’s around us. It’s constantly everywhere, and we have to learn how to hold our head up even when we’re feeling negative.
We have to learn how to sit up, and we have to learn how to crawl through it sometimes. We need to learn how to walk away from it sometimes. And we can–we can do it! We have all learned how to fight gravity, and we can learn how to fight negativity just as well, so that it just becomes a part of what we do every day. It’s a struggle, but we don’t even have to think about it. When we set up a structure in our daily life that fights negativity and brings in positivity, it just becomes a part of what we do. We don’t even have to think about it anymore. It doesn’t even seem hard anymore, because it’s such a part of our daily routine.
So, to help myself when I’m trying to work through negativity, I have set up a daily routine. I have my routine written down on a quarter sheet of paper to help remind me of the things I have decided to do each day. This also gives me something to check off, which helps motivate me to do it. Each week I fill out a new form, writing down the small actions I want to repeat each day to help build my positivity. Then at the end of the week I can review my effort and recommit myself to the coming week. I have been doing this for years now, and it works.
I have at least three things on this tracker form that I do to fill myself with positivity as I start each day. Just like when we learn how to hold our head up and start walking, and using all of our muscles to fight against gravity, we can use all the parts of ourselves to fight against negativity. To maintain some inner balance, I like to do at least one thing in three different categories each day. The three categories that I’m referring to are your mind, your body and your heart. Those are three good places to start, filling your mind with positivity, your body with positivity and your heart with positivity.
Let me illustrate with some examples, so that you can see how I do this. To fill my mind with positivity, I write some “I am” statements. As its name suggests, these are simply some statements of who I am. They’re positive statements, such as “I am kind,” “I am happy,” and “I am generous.” That’s one way that you can fill your mind with positivity.
To fill your body with positivity, you might exercise, stretch, or even dance. There are many other ways you can fill your body with positivity as well, but this should give you the idea.
One way to fill your heart with positivity is through prayer. Communicating with God, with your heart, is a great way to build positivity in your heart. Another way is through scripture study.
These are just some ideas of ways that I use to fill myself and my being with positivity. They don’t have to be big things, and they don’t have to take much time. I encourage you to get a tracker sheet, so that you have some way to keep track of these small actions that you can do each day to fill yourself with positivity.
Negativity comes naturally and easily. Positivity, however, we have to work for. If you have a way to keep track of your successes, you build what’s called “success energy.” Then when you look back at your tracker sheets and all the success that you’ve had, you see that you’re doing your part to build positivity into your life, and you feel so much better, and so much more in control of how much positivity that you have in your life and how much negative that you can get rid of.
I encourage you to try it. I think that you’ll be glad that you did, and I’m certain that you have some really good ideas of things that you can do to fill your mind, your body and your heart with positivity. You’re probably already doing a bunch of them. If you track them, it’s so much more fun. Believe me. Having evidence of all the positivity that I filled myself with helps me feel like I’m doing my part. I’m progressing and I’m doing what I can to fill my life with positivity. It feels so good. Success energy is so awesome. I want you to have some, too.
